Is Delta-8 Safe?
The delta-8 products that are sold in gas stations are not approved or evaluated by the FDA, this means that the products have not been rigorously tested and deemed as safe and effective for the intended use.
As these products aren’t FDA approved, it means that they may not be up to the federal quality standards that deem them safe for human consumption.
This means the individuals buying these products must do their research to find reputable and well-known brands.
Things To Look Out For
Some delta-8 products can be labeled as ‘hemp’ products which makes users assume they are non-psychoactive, which is not the case with delta-8.
Some brands also label themselves as medicinal which can lead consumers to think they have been FDA approved.
The FDA has previously expressed their concern that these products may also contain higher levels of the natural substances they claim to contain.
This means that they will produce a much stronger effect on people than normal hemp products.
Always look out for the chemicals used in the products by looking at the ingredients (see also “What Does Good Weed Look Like?“). Due to the lack of FDA approval, potentially harmful chemicals can make their way into the products.
This also solidifies the need for consumers to research their products.

Most advice will point you in the direction of an online store rather than a gas station. For one, this is because gas stations are small and may not have a complete array of stock available.
Many people also don’t carry much cash around with them anymore and prefer to buy things online. Paying by card isn’t always possible at gas stations, especially in more remote areas which also poses an issue for many.
