Bubbler Or Bong?

Anybody who has ever used a bong (see also "How To Clean Silicone Bongs") will know how great they can be for enjoying a fantastic smoke.

Not only do you get a great hit from a bong, but you can easily stretch out how much weed you have - and it’s a great way to socialize when you’re smoking. 

However, one of the biggest drawbacks with bongs is their size.

Whilst it’s true that not all bongs are the same size, generally speaking bongs are large - too large to put in your bag or even in your pocket. 

Bubblers on the other hand can easily be transported and some are small enough to fit easily into your pocket.

They are very much an individual product to enjoy your smoke - and due to their size, they’re easier to clean and you’re less likely to break them. 

In other words, bubblers are arguably much more versatile than bongs, and many people, especially newbies to weed smoking, are better off using bubblers than using bongs.

Material

Many, if not the majority of bubblers, will be made primarily of glass. However, this does not mean that all of them are. Some are made with a mixture of metal and plastic.

Now, the design of a bubbler is not exactly going to be the predominant consideration you make when you’re buying it - however, it is certainly something you should bear in mind anyway.

The one thing you should think about though is any colored glass. As we mentioned earlier, some designs are difficult to clean based on their color, like a dark blue or dark green for instance. 

Therefore, unless you really want those colors - then it’s probably best to opt for a different color if possible.

As with any great product on the market, there are so many brands of bubbler you could choose from.

However, if you find a bubbler - you are going to need to check this. 

Bubblers require a downstem, a grommet and a bowl piece. Some sellers do not supply these as you can buy them separately as replacements etc.

Of course though, in order to use your bubbler, you are going to need these components. 

It can often work out cheaper to buy them separately if you know what you are doing, but if you are new to a bubbler or you don’t really know what to look for, you’re much better off buying the whole kit when you make your purchase. 

Does It Come With A Warranty?

With any purchase you make, especially ones that are breakable or functional, you are always advised to find the product that has a warranty.

You might be thinking to yourself, well, what’s the point in having a warranty with a bubbler?

The thing is, bubblers have many areas where they could be broken or could become broken during transit when you’re getting it delivered for instance.

You do not want to be stuck in a situation where you have purchased something defective. 

Not only this, but you would then need to buy extra components or even a brand new bubbler when you did not need to. So, to avoid all of these added potential problems, ensure that your bubbler comes with a warranty!

Budget

When it comes to making your final decision, one of the largest considerations you will make will be regarding your budget.

However, we would say that you should probably avoid the urge to underspend when it comes to something like a bubbler.

You can often see a price that seems very reasonable, but you could end up with a product that is significantly lacking in quality.

It’s worth buying some Q-tips as well and dry paper towels after you have soaked your bubbler in warm water. Doing all of these steps will ensure you keep your bubbler clean and safe for as long as possible! 

Lighter 

You are definitely going to want to buy a very good quality lighter. Depending on the shape and size of your bubbler, your choice of lighter might differ too.

The one thing we would say here is to avoid the urge to buy a gas lighter. 

This is because lighters such as Zippo brand can affect the aroma and taste of your smoke - and they can often be a pain when they run out or do not spark as they should do! 

Instead, think about using a butane lighter with a large tip. These are much better as the flame can be more concentrated in the bowl.

Bubble Wrap/Carry Bag 

If you’re the type of person who is planning to take their bubbler to different places from time to time, you’re going to want to buy a carry bag. They are often black with plenty of pockets for great discretion.

As we mentioned earlier, while other brands may be cheaper, it can often be a false economy because they could either be missing parts, or the product’s quality could be seriously affected. 

If you are a newbie to bubblers, it’s definitely a good idea to stick to the confirmed brands that we know have a high quality and include everything you are looking for, including all components and a warranty. 

Does Size Really Make A Difference?

Larger bubblers produce much more smoke and as a result, they provide a much more intense smoking experience.

However, smaller bubblers are easier to conceal and transport around with you - which makes them far more discrete. 

It really depends on you. If you’re not much of a smoker, then smaller bubblers are better. Similarly, if you’re going to travel a lot with your bubbler, then smaller ones are better.

However, if you’re going to stay at home with it and you’re experienced with weed - then larger is 100% better for a supreme smoking experience. 

Can I Use Concentrates In A Bubbler?
